Here is Your Backyard Party Checklist to Compliment Your Bounce House Rental

A backyard bounce house rental is an excellent idea for any party where children ages 6 to 12
will be in attendance. There are some things that you’ll need to do to ensure a successful party.
Placement
You’ll need to ensure you have a clear and open space sufficient for the size of the bounce
house. You’ll also require an open and easily accessible path to where the inflatable will be set
up when it’s delivered. The bounce house must be established away from any utility lines,
fences, buildings or other potential hazards.
The location where the inflatable will be set up must be smooth and free of rocks, sticks,
sprinkler heads and other items that could damage it. You’ll also need a nearby source of
electricity to power the generator that will keep the bounce house inflated. The optimal
distance from a power source is 25 ft. or less.
Responsible Monitor
A responsible adult to monitor the bounce house is critical. No child under the age of 6 should
be allowed in a bounce house. The monitor will need to have children remove their shoes,
along with any objects that could possibly puncture the inflatable.
Food is never allowed in a bounce house. The monitoring adult will also be responsible for not
letting too many children in the bounce house at one time and ensuring that those in the
bounce house are of a similar size and weight.
Refreshments
Children burn a lot of energy in a bounce house. They’ll need food, along with beverages to
remain sufficiently hydrated. There are machines that can be rented to warm hotdogs and
buns, and to provide snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy. While soda is popular with
youngsters, water is better for hydration in the South Florida climate. Consider fruit flavored
water for a refreshing, tasty and healthy beverage.

Pre-Event Planning: What not to Overlook

There are dozens of details connected with any type of event, whether it’s a backyard BBQ or an informal wedding reception. Even when people believe a particular detail has been addressed and planned for, they often discover that there are gaps or insufficiencies. The following are some of the most commonly overlooked details.

Guest List

Never rely on word-of-mouth and never issue a blanket invitation via social media. Always send invitations with an RSVP for individuals that may not be computer savvy and make it clear that all invited guests are expected to RSVP.

Food

People are going to eat and drink more than the planned amount and there will inevitably be more people than anticipated. Always plan on an additional amount of food. Many individuals plan simpler menus as a cost-saving measure. It’s far easier and less expensive to serve extra burgers, hotdogs and punch than prime rib, soda and alcoholic beverages.

There will always be those that don’t RSVP, but show up anyway so be prepared. Always ensure that everyone needs to let the host/hostess know about any special dietary requirements ahead of time so vegan dishes and those that are nut or gluten-free can be provided.

Entertainment

Modern guests want activities to engage in and that’s where inflatables are an ideal choice. There are water slides, mazes and lawn games that will keep individuals busy for hours. Don’t forget music and the potential for dancing, along with any pertinent permits for music or serving alcoholic beverages if applicable, along with those for inflatables.

Liability

Most home owner’s insurance will cover injuries on the property, but there may be exclusions that leave hosts on the spot for expenses should someone be injured. Check the policy to identify what’s covered and keep a well-stocked first aid kit on hand.

Tents and Canopies

Any number of things can go awry, even at the most carefully planned event. The one thing that can’t be controlled is Mother Nature. Be sure that there’s sufficient seating for each individual so they can rest from the heat and humidity and plan on a canopy or tent where people can cool off or take shelter from any rain or storm that happens to blow through.

Host A New England Style Clambake

Nothing screams summer like an authentic New England style clambake. A New England Clambake is a tradition that dates back over 100 years and is regularly observed to date during summer. This traditional practice marks the day, hundreds of years ago, when the First European Settlers learned how to cook in a pit, a concept the Native Americans taught them. Today, to be able to host a successful New England Style Clambake, all you need is a sunny and sandy seashore, loads of clams and sausage, corn and potatoes, coal for your grill and a nice grill set-up. Here is how all these play out to helping you host a New England style clambake.

  1. Traditional Style Cooking

Look for a sandy and sunny seashore near you, whose laws permit you to grill in the open near the ocean. Once you have selected a nice spot, you can begin to set your grill up. First and foremost, you have to dig a shallow, oblong hole in the sand. Secondly, line this hole with large stones, on top of which you can then lay your coals. Next comes your wood which you should light and allow to burn for a while, about an hour or two, after which you will rake off the ashes. Lastly, set your grill up on top of some blocks of cinder and ensure that it is stable.

  1.  Loading on the ingredients

A classic New England clambake must comprise of loads of clams, sausage, some corn, and potatoes. Additionally, be sure to have seaweed on which you will pile your ingredients. The trick is to layer the ingredients, with the ones that take longest to cook being placed at the bottom. Naturally, the potatoes or starchy tubers will come first, followed by a layer of seaweed on which you will add the corn, followed by the sausage and finally, the clams.

  1. Cover to cook

After covering the last layer of clams with seaweed, it’s time to throw on a sea-water soaked burlap sack. The cooking will take about an hour, during which all the clams should have opened and the potatoes will have become tender. Remember to pour seawater over the burlap sack as needed during cooking. As you wait to feast on your New England clambake, this would be a good time to enjoy some drink as you frolic on one of our gigantic beach-side water slides.

  1. Serve

Set up your New England Clam Bake on your beach blankets and get ready to enjoy a massive feast whose roots begun over a hundred years ago.

Summertime is a great time to sample and try new ideas such as the New England Clambake as detailed above. Be sure to gather your friends around and try your own clambake, it is such fun and will get you and your friends in on the action. For more fun, contact us to hire any of our mega-sized water slides today. We deal in all types and sizes of waterslides that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.

Party Planning 101

If you have been strictly keeping tabs on your calendar lately, one can understand why; it is springtime. The bitter cold has paved the way for warmth while the vegetation is sprouting again. Flowers are in full blossom, and the grass is green all over you. When you look out the window, the outdoors is beckoning you to sample the beautiful weather. One thought that comes to mind is that of inviting your family, friends, and neighbors to an outdoor spring party.

However, with a celebratory event where people come over to your house, you need to plan. The tips below are sure to give you a head start.

Make early preparations

Springtime is for everyone, and they all want to enjoy the warm weather. Before people start getting busy, send them invitations in advance. Wisdom advises that you plan your event one or two months before the season kicks. At the same time, you give your guests ample time to confirm before they receive other engagements. Decide on the number of people to invite depending on your budget and space in your backyard.

Work out the menu

Depending on your budget, you could plan to hire a caterer for the day. Outsourcing saves you the trouble of cleaning up after everyone has left. You also find sufficient time to mingle with your guests, something that makes the party memorable. Whether self or outside-catered, you need to plan your menu as well as snacks for children. If you intend to have a barbeque, make adequate arrangements for grilling.

Drinks

Guests expect that you will serve them beverages at some point. Choose your beverages such that they cut across both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic types. Consider having a central serving location, but for large parties, you can hire a bartender. Also, have some fresh fruit juices and sodas for children. Remember bottled water too. Keep the drinks chilled in coolers; you can borrow a few for the occasion.

Entertainment

Your options might vary depending on the guest list. All the same, you could hire a DJ outfit complete with equipment. The other option is to improvise by putting your speakers at strategic points in the yard. You might need additional cables to enable the speakers to reach the farthest corner of the yard. Go through your CD collection and pick the music that your guests would love. If on self-entertainment, assign someone the responsibility of changing the CDs for continuity.

Décor

Decorate the site creatively to set the mood for a party. You could hire some deck chairs and arrange them around a fireplace; it might get cold in the evening.

Sum-up

Parties are a fantastic idea for bringing people together especially after months of hibernation. Make yours exciting by throwing weight on the preparation. Plan your menu several weeks before and include food choices that cater to different people. Drinks are a must; have some beer, wine, water, soda, and juice. Hire a DJ or provide your own music to set the party mood.

The Best Mermaid Birthday Party

Event Bloggers Who Love to Throw a Party in South Florida

Event planning has become a huge business. That couldn’t be a more accurate statement when you live in a place such as South Florida. Since the weather is almost always ideal for outdoor planning, there’s parties, bah mitzvahs and a variety of other celebrations where event planning is practically necessary. It seems nearly every weekend; this demographic is booked with making the party a gigantic hit. In this blog, we quote a few of the event bloggers who give you some valuable insight on how they threw some of the best birthday parties around town.

Event Blogger April Tan hosts a blog called “Catch My Party” where she gives a plethora of tips on throwing child themed birthdays. Here’s what she had to say about coming up with the concepts, “With mermaids, it’s all about the decorating. I created a visually stimulating fantasy world using pastel colors such as lavender, turquoise, sea foam green, and pink. I also used the color white as my base to keep the aesthetics feeling light and airy. Accents with pearls, starfish, and fish kept the theme from under-going. The kids just loved it when they walked into the backyard and seen lots of pretty decorations”.

Next event blogger, Lenzo is more of a one-stop shop for party planning that includes blogs from ghostwriters. Nonetheless, their mission is always to know what the trends are connecting with outside suppliers who want to sell goods. One of the bloggers caught up with us to talk about Glamping Parties for any Diva Troop. “The theme was inspired by the movie “Troop Beverly Hills,” and we focused on keeping the color palette in line with green, different shades of pink and white. This sparked quite a host of fun with the many hues of pink we found. Besides these smashing splashes of color, one very popular kid party favor is the tent. Girls love homemade shelters as much as boys, and they can be easily made. Tents are all the hype and what’s popular at most of the events we see currently.

The last blogger we connected with was from Southern Blue Celebrations. The charming writers who create content on this blog have a million grand ideas for you to try. But, we did speak to one of the phantom writers who told us the “Alice in Wonderland” novelty is what everyone is raving about for 2018. “Last year it was Minions, this year it’s Alice. The girls loved the finger sandwiches and tea party lunch along with the mobile we handcrafted pointing the confusing directions. Nonetheless, our girls wanted to have an outdoor party, so we hung decorations from the tree and set up the table to look like a scene from the movie. Also, we asked the parents to dress the girls like Alice or one of the characters which made the photos super cute and timeless”.

These event bloggers all have the right idea which is to make a point of being innovative but sticking with the trends to keep the children at ease. We hope these were some helpful tips for you as well for your daughter’s next birthday party. Best of luck!

South Florida Bounce Has You Hopping in April

From the jelly beans to the colored eggs, Easter Sunday has always been a favorite celebration for both families and friends in the South Florida area. The weather is still perfect for outdoor activities such as egg hunts and picnic style parties. This is also the time of year when people are planning their summer and fall parties. In this week’s blog, we help you think of ways to keep the month of April hopping to get your through your party celebrations without messing up one ‘hare!’

First, be sure to decorate with lots of love and pastels. Stop by a place like Michael’s crafts or drop into Pinterest to get fantastic decoration ideas for your home or office. If you get a head start on things like hanging up wreaths and floral arrangements, you’ll have more time to enjoy the décor.

Remember those who are alone or elderly. This holiday doesn’t have to be spent only thinking about chocolate bunnies and peeps. The real PEEPs are the ones who need you most. Stop in and visit one of your neighbors by bringing them a special treat or a cute little gift and watch how much your heart is warmed. Let this time be peaceful and joyous as a little lamb by doing good things for others.

Next, plan the perfect family meal. While ham and scallop potatoes are a tradition in some households, your party doesn’t have to include those items. Get creative. Don’t forget the holiday champagne. Passover or Pesach Seder is shared by lovely bowls of Matzah Ball Soup and who can’t resist braised brisket? No matter what you serve for your family’s dinner you’ll savor it more with every bite since you’re loved ones are there to share with you.

Lastly, be sure to keep the festivities going with lots of activity. Find fun games other than your egg hunts and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Games such as bunny bowling and making Easter slime can be just fun for your little ones.

If you’re planning on throwing a large party at one of the local parks, be sure to give us a call. We’ve got an extensive variety of attractions to make your outdoor event one your family and friends will always remember.

Retirement Party? Don’t forget the Kids!

It seems that many of us today are constantly on the go. When it comes to planning a party or an event, it makes perfect sense to work smart and not hard. Whether you’re organizing your child’s graduation party or a retirement party for your elderly father, it’s important to remember the kids. Rather than sticking them in another room with their video games, why not open the party for participation amongst all ages? In this week’s blog, we’ve got a few tricks to show you how.

Children tend to get bored easily, and in most cases, parents won’t even want to bring them to an adult themed party. However, today’s society has changed, and it’s more common now to invite the whole family rather than just colleagues and co-workers to such a milestone event. The biggest dilemma and one that is often overlooked is what to do for entertainment? One of our first solutions is, of course, to introduce you to the idea of having a bounce house on site. Whether it’s set up in a front yard or at a park, this is the main attraction amongst both kids and adults.

Next would be a waterslide. Since you live in a place like South Florida, it only makes sense to cool everyone off in the hot tropical weather with a splash of fun. While the children are out having, fun playing in the water, the adults can focus on telling stories about the guest of honor’s accomplishments. Think about it. This is the perfect solution to eliminating whining kids during grandfather’s speech.

Lastly, we’d like to mention; our obstacle courses are an excellent way for adults to participate and compete. As a corporate event planner, you can incorporate some team building skills along with saying goodbye to the employee. Using our many features at your next grown-up party will not only show you’re organized and can handle some pretty unusual tasks, but it will also make you a company hero!

Whether you’re looking to facilitate a phenomenal adult party or one where kids are involved, we have a multitude of solutions to make the day enjoyable for everyone. Contact our staff who specialize in celebrating to make your next party or even a smashing one!

Don’t forget to ask us about table and chair rentals too!

Great Photo Resources Kids Parties & Events

With technology being in the palm of everyone’s hand, it seems almost redundant to speak of photo resources. Everyone appears to be an instant photographer with the quality of picture taking with your smartphones. However, there are times where finding a good photographer is important. Or perhaps you don’t know how you’ll cover 240 guests when it comes to taking pictures. Well, don’t fret, we’ve got some hot tips for you that will help to capture your son or daughter’s birthday party or any other event, and you won’t have to go bonkers doing so.

Hiring a good photographer may seem easy, but when it comes to covering your child’s event, you want to know you found the best person possible who’s been vetted. Places like Craigslist, might seem reputable and for the most part, they are, but you have no idea who you’re getting. If you do decide to take your chances and hire the photographer from places such as Facebook Marketplace, then ask for up to five references of previous customers. Once you get these references, do your due diligence and check these people out!

Next, you can find a variety of skill sets such as kid photography on the Thumbtack App or Website. Thumbtack does have photographers who have passed a background check for parents wanting to ensure they’re getting someone who is responsible around children. Be sure to check out this app.

Photo booths are another nice way to allow for picture taking where you’re not interrupting facilitating the rest of the party to snap a few shots with your cell phone. Another benefit to renting a photo booth is these individuals works perfectly for large parties. The reason they are ideal for volume guests is that they sit off to the side when people want their photo taken they can do it in a unique way, giving them a hard copy to hang. For fun, you can request all the files to be delivered from the photo booth and then post to Facebook or other places for sharing.

These are a few places for you to consider next time you’re planning a party or event. We’ve got a multitude of different party favors that can make your celebration complete. Be sure to give us a shout if there are any further questions. Until then, happy planning!
