Big Fun for your Small Gathering

Small gatherings deserve the same amount of care and a fun factor equal to major events and you can achieve that goal in a variety of ways. There’s a myriad of methods to liven up a small gathering that’s as much fun for adults as children. The following are some suggestions in no particular order.

Costume Party

You don’t have to wait until Halloween to hold a costume party. The best part is that you can choose from dozens of themes ranging from spooky to historical. The Wild West, pirates, zombies, and themes derived from TV shows and films are especially popular.

Escape Room

These are great for groups of 10 or less. A word of warning – while they’re great fun, some are not appropriate for children under a certain age or those that are impressionable. Different themes are offered and each adventure typically lasts for an hour as you put together clues and solve puzzles to escape.

Inflatables

There are rentable inflatables to accommodate any space requirement. The range of inflatables encompasses water slides, bounce houses, and full-size board/lawn games, along with inflatable options for carnival fun.

International Potluck

If you don’t feel like fighting the crowds for a dinner out, have guests each bring a dish from a different country. It doesn’t matter whether they make it themselves or bring pre-made restaurant food – bonding over food is a worldwide custom.

Mechanical Rides/Games

If you’ve ever had a yearning to try your hand at bull riding, you can rent one of the popular rides for your gathering. Bungee trampolines, rock climbing walls, interactive experiences, and robo surfers are other options that can be rented.

Movie Night

It’s easy to hold a Hollywood premiere night in your backyard. You’ll need a projector and if you don’t want to spare the money for a screen, a large white sheet makes a serviceable alternative. The same idea can be repurposed for a football party and there are food machines that can be rented for the event that includes popcorn, hotdogs, and sno-cones/shaved ice.

Ditch the TV and Try these Ideas

Picture a TV customized to the size of your outdoor living space. There’s no fighting for position to get the best view – everyone can easily see every moment of the action. While that day hasn’t arrived, the next best things are the bounce houses, water slides, carnival games and mechanical rides available at South Florida Bounce.

Themed bounce houses are available to pique the interest of all ages and they can be combined with water slides to transform any yard into a wonderland for the young and young at heart. South Florida Bounce has the tallest free-standing water slide with a 40-feet drop that will thrill and amaze. Dry slide options are also available and can be paired with bounce houses and obstacle courses.

For thrill-seekers, tune your outdoor “TV” to an adventure channel with an activity that combines the fun of a trampoline with the excitement of bungee jumping. You can also choose a four-sided rock wall for climbing, an inflatable corn maze, a giant hamster ball course, or human foosball. You can also choose an inflatable 9-hole golf course, interactive space or sumo arenas, gladiator jousting, water balloon wars, and the ever-popular skee ball.

South Florida Bounce lets you bring the fun of a carnival midway to your back yard. Add ambiance with a bubble machine while friends and family try their luck at the dunk tank. Multiple game booths are offered, along with “Plinko,” a cash cube, and a trackless train.

Keep the masses fed with food options that capture the look, feel and scents of a fair with machines to create snow cones, cotton candy, and popcorn. Hot dog rollers and steamers provide a more substantial offering to keep everyone energized.

You can take a break with a selfie booth featuring a variety of props and backgrounds. Even better, choose the innovative new “strip” photo booth that utilizes state-of-the-art digital technology. It’s the same type of photo booth that’s become a popular must-have at celebrity gatherings.

You can’t clutter your outdoor space with a Godzilla-sized TV, but you can fill it with the live action of bounce houses, water slides, a myriad of interactive games, rides, and the excitement of a carnival. The many options available at South Florida Bounce enable anyone to set their channel for adventure.

How to Create A Great Party Playlist

Throwing the perfect party is not just about the venue you choose and the food you serve, it is also about creating the perfect playlist to have your guests dancing the night away.

Not sure how to do it?  Follow our advice on how to create a great party playlist.

Tailor your list to suit the occasion

If you are holding a family friendly event, chances are you can forego the banging EDM music and opt for something lower key instead.   Think about the atmosphere you are trying to create before you start thinking about the musical accompaniment and work from there.   A laid back, afternoons social for example is the perfect place for bringing out some of your favorite light jazz and old-school soul tunes, that will help to create a relaxing, friendly atmosphere where people can talk.

If you are planning on partying later into the small hours, add plenty of well-known party anthems at the start of the evening, to help get your guests in the mood.  As the evening goes on, increased the BPM to keep them dancing.  If it’s a seasonal affair, be sure to throw some Christmas tunes in to help everyone get into the spirit of things.

Mix it up

As the nominated DJ for your event, remember that variety is the spice of life. Throw in a variety of slow and fast songs, pop classics, country favorites and other musical styles to keep people interested.  Mixing current hits with old school favorites is also a great way to keep guests of all ages entertained throughout the evening.  You should also space things out evenly, so that you don’t get stuck on one style of music for too long at a time, and always throw in some crowd-pleasers. like Whitney, Britney, Madonna and Beyoncé to really get the party started.

Your Party, Your Playlist

Of course, you want to wow your guests with lots of lovely crowd pleasers, but never be afraid to throw a few of your favorites into the mix too.  Intersperse well known party tunes with some from your own personal playlist to create the perfect party sounds to keep your guests entertained, while still reflecting your own personality.  Don’t go overboard with obscure, one hit wonders though – remember this is a party after all, and not an opportunity for you to educate your guests in your own taste in music.

Review Your Choices Before the Big Day

If you really want to impress with your musical prowess, be sure to listen to your playlist in full at least a couple of times before the event itself.  Listen out loud through your sound system, not your headphones to get a feel for technical anomalies like changes in sound quality.  You should also be prepared to make harsh edits and cut out some songs completely if they don’t fit in with the final cut.  This way, you can create a fine-tuned playlist that will go down a storm.

Enjoy!

When your guests arrive, it’s time to forget about the music and get bust being the best host you can be.  Your carefully created playlist is bound to be a big hit with your guests, so have a drink and join in the fun, and don’t worry about which song comes next, or whether everyone like it.

Kid Entrepreneurs!

Did you know that a good number of successful entrepreneurs around the world started their journey in business as kids?  Warren Buffet the world-renowned business magnate and philanthropist built his business acumen out of selling gums. Daymond John customized pencils for his schoolmates at a fee. Mark Cuban who owns Mavericks started by selling garbage bags. Sir Richard Branson at the tender age of 11 was making money by selling Parakeets to children in his neighborhood.

Why Encourage Kids to Be Entrepreneurs?

Unlike adults, kids have an innate desire to dream and to experiment with new ideas. With the right support, many kids have been able to turn their ideas into profitable opportunities. The path to entrepreneurship prepares the kids for success in their lives, workplace, and future businesses.

Kids learn very valuable life lessons such as:

  • How to become more confident which helps develop their public speaking skills.
  • How to separate and manage finances, both personal and business. It helps kids to learn about budgets, savings and spending money responsibly.
  • How to handle rejection and failure because not everything will work how they had planned.
  • How to budget and manage their time as well as how to plan and stick to schedules.
  • The essence of accountability to their clients, investors and most importantly to themselves.

Encouraging an Entrepreneurial Mindset

Kids do not have to be born entrepreneurs; we can grow and expose them to an entrepreneurial mindset by:

  • Creating a strong support system and encouraging them in their ideas even when they sound so outrageous or impossible to achieve.
  • Helping them to identify areas they are passionate about so that they can greatly enjoy running their business.
  • Create opportunities for them to make their pitches if they need funding. This will help them to become better in their communication and to understand their business better.
  • Creating fun environments that change their regular routines and encourage their creativity to flow.
  • Kids are not exempt from the legal requirements of running a business. It is therefore important to ensure that they acquire all the necessary permits and are fully compliant with all the city, county or federal regulations.
  • Help them to create business plans and to understand their value propositions so that they are better able to sell their services to their clients.

Simple business ideas great for kid entrepreneurs

Whilst different kids may have different interests, below are some ideas that can spark or build on their entrepreneurial desires:

  • Prepare and sell art pieces such as drawings, postcards or portraits.
  • Learn how to crochet or knit scarves, hats, and
  • Collect items for recycling and make products out of them.
  • Bake cakes or cookies or prepare lemonade for sale.

Prepare Children for a Successful Future

Kids who engage in entrepreneurship gain several relevant life skills that never depart from them. The skills become relevant in all spheres of their lives – school, home and even in their careers. Adults have a big role to play in helping the children to take chances, make mistakes and learn from them and above to enjoy the process. It is never too early to raise kidprenuers!

Retirement Party? Don’t forget the Kids!

It seems that many of us today are constantly on the go. When it comes to planning a party or an event, it makes perfect sense to work smart and not hard. Whether you’re organizing your child’s graduation party or a retirement party for your elderly father, it’s important to remember the kids. Rather than sticking them in another room with their video games, why not open the party for participation amongst all ages? In this week’s blog, we’ve got a few tricks to show you how.

Children tend to get bored easily, and in most cases, parents won’t even want to bring them to an adult themed party. However, today’s society has changed, and it’s more common now to invite the whole family rather than just colleagues and co-workers to such a milestone event. The biggest dilemma and one that is often overlooked is what to do for entertainment? One of our first solutions is, of course, to introduce you to the idea of having a bounce house on site. Whether it’s set up in a front yard or at a park, this is the main attraction amongst both kids and adults.

Next would be a waterslide. Since you live in a place like South Florida, it only makes sense to cool everyone off in the hot tropical weather with a splash of fun. While the children are out having, fun playing in the water, the adults can focus on telling stories about the guest of honor’s accomplishments. Think about it. This is the perfect solution to eliminating whining kids during grandfather’s speech.

Lastly, we’d like to mention; our obstacle courses are an excellent way for adults to participate and compete. As a corporate event planner, you can incorporate some team building skills along with saying goodbye to the employee. Using our many features at your next grown-up party will not only show you’re organized and can handle some pretty unusual tasks, but it will also make you a company hero!

Whether you’re looking to facilitate a phenomenal adult party or one where kids are involved, we have a multitude of solutions to make the day enjoyable for everyone. Contact our staff who specialize in celebrating to make your next party or even a smashing one!

Don’t forget to ask us about table and chair rentals too!

Dealing with the After-Holiday Blah’s

The season has come and gone and now everyone who is blasé with vacations, toys, sweets, etc., is now looking for anything to say those horrific words “I’m bored.” As a parent, these words muttered together with that sniveling whine can make you quiver with angst. What do you do? We’ve got the answers right here in this week’s blog.

Hint, Hint: (of course, we’re not going to tell you to rent a bounce house or anything until the end, where you’ll be looking to put us on speed dial)

There are a million, gazillion, trillion answers online. By visiting places like Pinterest and Parenting Magazine, you can find a ton of great games, projects or whatever else floats your kid’s boat. Here’s a one we found ideal for staying home.

The Fizzy Candy Cane Experiment is totally awesome and a great way to rid your children of cavities. Plus, it’s a science project, so it’s okay. You’ll need the following to conduct the process:

  • Leftover Candy Canes
  • 1 Box Baking Soda
  • 1 Bottle Vinegar
  • Any Color Food Coloring
  • A baking pan that’s deep
  • Measuring Cup
  • Spoons

Follow these steps:

  1. Spread all the baking soda out on the sheet.
  2. Place Candy Canes on top of the baking soda and try to spread them out evenly.
  3. Mix food coloring with a cup of vinegar.
  4. With a spoon have each child drop vinegar mixture onto the baking soda in the pan.

If all goes well, there’s going to be a lot of fizz and the colors from the food coloring plus whatever dye is in the candy canes will create beautiful designs of foamy color. If you didn’t like the idea of this project, let’s move onto the next.

Another idea to keep in your boredom briefcase is local activities online.

  • Take your kids to an outdoor yoga camp for a day.
  • You can do a Google Alert for free events in South Florida or Coral Springs.
  • Consider visiting one of the many museums in South Florida. Check to see if they have any days open to free admittance for kids.

4 Family-Holiday Traditions

During the magical times of the season, everyone tries to focus on holiday maintenance perhaps a little too much. We find the holidays are traditional and can bring families closer together despite everything you may be hearing. Here are some of our favorite family traditions you can share with your next of kin and children.

  1. Cookie Bake Off
  2. Decorating the Tree
  3. Wrap Session
  4. Elf on the Shelf

With the cookie bake off you’ll need to create a variety of cookie dough ahead of time so make time for prepping. Make it easy and start a week before the bake-off, freeze the dough. Trust us; your life will be saner. Our relatives make a night special and bake their best pastries then everyone gets a box that includes the variety. Not only is this fun, but it’s also great to work with relatives who don’t get a chance to see each other that often.

We think it’s safe to say that decorating the tree can be one of the highlights of the whole year. Regardless of who you are, if you decorate a tree, you’ll probably agree there’s something so special about that time when dad’s pick up their little boy or girl to place the topper on the tree.  Who doesn’t love watching the kids put all the candy canes on the same branch? We can’t forget tinsel in the dog’s business either. (We hope you have a smile on your face right now) Decorating the tree is always a joyous event no matter what age you are.

The wrap session is best when done by neighbors. Trust us; this one can be tricky. Since the holidays like Christmas, Hanukah, and Kwanza are about connecting with people, why not host a wrap session and invite friends and neighbors to help you wrap gifts while catching up? One way to organize this type of gathering is to have everyone bring their kids gifts and wrap the presents one person at a time. This method can work well if you keep it organized since it saves time with the extra helping hands.

Elf on the shelf is one of the greatest ideas anyone ever. These little figurines have been around forever, and we’ve had the pleasure of finding that little elf in places like the bathtub, laundry room and even behind the toilet as a tactic to poddy train.

Whether you’re hanging out with a family before or after the season, make sure you carry your family traditions as a way of bringing each other together to build long lasting memories.

Procrastinator Ideas for Your Fundraiser

It seems with the fall being upon us once again, more of our philanthropy events are taking place around South Florida. Every organization from the Boys and Girls club to the local churches are planning their yearly events. Many of us busy bees and procrastinators forget the entertainment till last. In this blog, we dedicate our expert advice to conjure up some ideas even if you’re a last minute planner. Read on!

Bounce houses are obviously a favorite past time for all ages. Today’s BH’s have more to offer than the moonwalks of yesterday. It’s important to know the square footage when reserving your BH with any vendor. The sqft gives them the opportunity to offer a great deal with the correct size.

If you have a more selected age group that’s older, consider one of the obstacle courses for your guests. You can charge the participants a dollar a fight and command the audience betting on the winner. Request local business co-op the event and donate a prize for the donation. Great way to build awareness of the event along with raising funds.

If this is a family event, strong games can be fun. Rock climbing is a favored feature for many of the younger generation.

Food vendors can be expensive. If you’re looking to offer food at your charity event, keep in mind that you can cook with our appliance rentals such as hot dog griller and cotton candy machine. South Florida Bounce has one of the biggest selections of food prep tools.

When you live in a place such as South Florida waterslides are extremely popular. With the perfect weather temperatures year around, a waterslide rental can be ideal whether your event is planned for July or December!

We’ve seen a lot of rentals for October with big races such as Cure for Cancer. If your event is a 5K marathon, we can’t suggest to you more how great waterslides are. Many of these races are family affairs; kids love to participate too. Now, watching dad run a marathon is more exciting for both fathers and children.

No matter if you wait until the last hour to throw your shin-dig together or you’re someone who’s run out of time, our office staff can help you schedule the perfect entertainment in town.

We’re here to help!

The Ultimate Summer Carnival

Before summer is over, there’s plenty of time to facilitate a great summer carnival for your church, little league or any other organization. We’ve got some incredible inflatables for rent to turn that carnival into a South Florida Bounce carnival they’ll never forget. Check out the tips, here!
Besides the traditional bounce houses that everyone rents, why not start out with a mega-waterslide or an obstacle course that will give your attendees a real thrill? We’ve got the biggest selection in all of South Florida and renting with us is done with a no-hassle theory.
A few other attractions to consider is our rock climbing wall, trackless train and the corn toss. All of which are excellent ways to entertain guests and keep the party rocking.
No party would be complete without having a picture. Include a photo booth or selfie booth, just like you find at Coney Island. People love these and you will have a lot of fun, exchanging the photos.
If you’re having a fundraiser or some other little league event, why not book our Home Run Challenge, Basketball Hoop or Large Soccer Goal? This is a great feature at any carnival, where you could include game prizes for those with a high score. Don’t forget to make a trip to the Dollar Store for some inexpensive give-a-ways.
Are you doing some type of team activities? We’ve got the perfect water balloon toss. Our Water Balloon Wars inflatable will help to keep your participants covered while wizzing water balloons at one another. This is important to protect people from the hot rays of the SoFlo sun.
We’ve got several dunk tanks for your party. These are perfect for school and church events. The only thing these don’t come with ice water and the person that’s the target.
Want to see the ultimate fight? Rent our Gladiator Joust for a bit of excitement. Two opposing players will stand on opposite podiums surrounded by an inflatable bounce platform, that gives a safe landing and then watch the two try to knock each other till the other falls off.
Don’t forget, we rent out Hot Dog rollers, Cotton Candy Makers, tables and chairs to make your event complete. Many of our organizations that have used our products and services in the past use raffle tickets for their carnivals. We’ve got everything you need or we know who does. Be sure to give us all your festival details so we can make suggestions.
No matter if you’re looking for a day or a week, we can help make your carnival or fundraiser it’s biggest success to date.

Top Four Waterslides in South Florida

Four of the Best Waterslides in South Florida!

With the cooler temperatures finally passing and our warm Southern Florida weather is back to join us, there are more people contacting us for waterslide rentals. Why wouldn’t you want a waterside to be the main entertainment at any child/adult party or event? There are many great reasons to include one of these fun inflatables but we wanted to give you a snapshot of what our water slide features stand out compared to other bounce house vendors.

The Twister towers over most single story houses at 40 feet tall it towers over the rooftops and lets every kid in the neighborhood know something really big is going on. The dual slides dip down into soft- durable nylon and vinyl plastic. This is the second largest slide in the world. The biggest inflatable water slide is only 5 feet tall that The Twister and is 183 feet long. The slide only takes minutes to set up and tear down. The end of this slide has a small obstacle course and ends in a shallow pool for wading in. Both kids and adults love this device as it lends a little excitement with its height, but is safe with the soft sturdy material it’s made with.

Check Out Our Waterslide Rentals In Palm Beach County and in Broward County

The Hulk is a super slide at 36 feet high and 100 feet of waterslide fun. At the end of the slide there’s a small pool that is great for even the little ones. This is a backyard attraction and you’ll need a substantial amount of room for this lengthy slide. Many of our school events select this model since it can accommodate larger parties. Contact us for estimates and area space requirements.

The Mudslide gives your party that extra spin that provides hours of entertainment. This waterslide stands 30 feet tall and reaches the peaks of the rooftops. The vinyl canopy gives an attractive design. Decorative and safe bouncing columns are a nice addition with coverage from the sun, along with the ability to bounce off the giant inflatable structure. The ride ends with a splash in the wading pool.

Our two lane Tsunami waterslide has an impressive height of 30 feet as well and offers bumpers on each side. A shallow pool waits at the end for the riders. The cool blue design stands out in any park or beach area. Our attendants are always on duty during your event to ensure your guests’ safety while they celebrate. All of our inflatables go through one of the deepest cleaning processes to keep your family and friends healthy. This inflatable like many of our waterslides and bounce houses require a clearing of 20 or more feet.
