Family Reunion Fun Time in South Florida

Drive through just about any neighborhood park or recreation center, and you’ll see the groves of people hanging out, grilling and having fun. In addition to the community, the beaches are full of families who are celebrating their togetherness. One thing sure is South Florida is full of family events including reunions and why shouldn’t it be? With warm weather, plenty of sunshine and beautiful landscape it’s the ideal place for every type of party. In this blog, we point out some excellent tips for planning your family reunion that will keep you smiling in the sun!

Most reunions tend to be an annual event. But, if this is a new tradition you’re starting, you may want to give you family plenty of time to plan. Preplanning is crucial and applies in particular if there will be people flying in or driving long distances. Contact the local hotels to see if they offer any group discounts. In most cases, they will allow such a thing if there are multiple families lodging at the same time.

Next, plan your reunion carefully. If you don’t want the Hatfields and the McCoys starting family world war III, then be sure to invite those who can attend in harmony. In many instances, these are family gatherings that allow families to reconnect and that’s the whole idea.

In addition to your guest list, be sure to plan a great meal with all the fixings. Be sure to consider religious and food preferences as not everyone enjoys the same types of diet.  A great place to find excellent recipes for these kinds of parties is Pinterest and Martha Stewart’s Online site.

Besides the food, don’t forget games and activities. Keep the party going by offering both kids, and adult themed features such as charades, twenty questions to bounce houses and waterslides. The more thought and planning you do, the more successful your family’s event will become.

For more ideas about planning your next event including fundraisers and church bazaar’s, we’ve got a huge selection of party favors. With a little help and a large selection, you can have the best family reunion yet to come.

5 Arts and Craft Party Ideas for Your Kids

It seems there are a plethora of ideas when it comes to your child’s birthday parties. Visit places like Michael’s Crafts or Pinterest, and you can quickly be overwhelmed by the multitude of favors to recipes from people like Mommy Bloggers to manufacturers. In fact, there are so many different themes, it’s astounding. However, one idea that seems to be sweeping South Florida children’s events is one we’re highlighting in this week’s blog. The Art Party is all encompassing when it comes to loads of activity and fun for your celebrations.

Tip 1.) Go to your local craft or dollar store and buy a few plastic palettes used for mixing craft paint. Use this to decorate cupcakes by adding fun toppings such as sprinkles and edible glitter. Kids love to decorate their food with interesting products.

Tip 2.) Pick Your Craft Activity Carefully. Which art you choose can be rather tricky as you know because kids tend to spill, break and do all kinds of thing that can make a mess. If the paint is going to be used look for something that’s non-toxic. Put tarps down from the Home Depot or Lowes to secure flooring from becoming a hot mess, and keep plenty of large garbage bags around.

Tip 3.) Set up Work Stations. Have parents help out at multiple tables with different crafts at each one. Having several stations allows each child to work on a couple of various works and it also keeps the party moving. If you are going to have a few different craft tables, be sure to keep the crafts simple. If it’s too complicated, you might lose their attention. But, you might also lose your mind.

Tip 4.) Decorate with Interesting party favors, such as streamers, tissue paper flowers, and a cute banner. Use vinyl paper instead of crepe paper or poster board for a durable yet waterproof surface.

Tip 5.) Assign a clean-up crew to help you. If there’s going to be other parents around, give each person a unique cleaning task to make your party end a happy one.

By following these quick and easy steps, your child’s arts and crafts party will be a huge success. Another great point to make is while your kids are outside playing in one of our fabulous inflatables, you can kick back and relax after a birthday well done.

Until next time, be sure to contact us directly for your largest selection in Bounce Houses, Waterslides and more.

OMG! 5 of The Best Fundraisers Ever!

When it comes to organizing fundraisers, there’s are almost too many options, making it a challenge for event planners. There’s everything from silent auctions to kiss offs and pretty much everything in between. We can appreciate how finding the right fundraiser can make or break your non-profit or charitable cause. So, to help you out, we’ve put together five of the best fundraisers to help launch your thoughts.

  1. Garage Sales
  2. Silent Auctions
  3. Sporting Event
  4. Scavenger Hunt
  5. Bean Bath

Garage sales are one of the best ways to raise funds for your philanthropy causes fast. Organize a location, collect the items for the sale and then, start meeting your goals. In some cases, this type of sale, can raise in the ballpark of $1000 or more even if you select one day for the event. Any leftover items can be donated to thrift stores or other non-profit organizations.

Next, is the Silent Auction. It’s profound how much someone may be willing to bid on your old junk. Don’t forget, you can organize an event such as an auction by creating the event page on Facebook or Google Hangouts. Wait till you see how quickly your goal is met.

In addition to silent auctions, sporting events have become rather popular with fundraising efforts. Get together celebrities from your schools or churches and the local community, sell tickets and paraphernalia and watch the crowd go live! These types of competitions are not only a great way to raise capital, they’re super fun to attend.

Now that we’ve discussed a few obvious events to raise money for your charity, think a little more on the ingenious side by hosting a scavenger hunt. Don’t forget to include local businesses who may want to donate products or services such as dinner for two at a local restaurant. These events used to more popular and now are making a comeback.

Lastly, some may find this fundraiser a little on the crazy side. But, let’s face it when it comes to raising money, crowds love to see people squirm. Just picture your principals or teachers having to step into a tub filled with Pork and Beans. What a hoot!

These fundraisers always work best when they’re well planned and include other activities or attractions such as bounce houses and waterslides, so don’t forget to include us!

We hope these suggestions have sparked some ideas and will help you raise money to meet your organizations goals. Let us know how they worked out for you if you decide to take our bouncing advice!

Great Photo Resources Kids Parties & Events

With technology being in the palm of everyone’s hand, it seems almost redundant to speak of photo resources. Everyone appears to be an instant photographer with the quality of picture taking with your smartphones. However, there are times where finding a good photographer is important. Or perhaps you don’t know how you’ll cover 240 guests when it comes to taking pictures. Well, don’t fret, we’ve got some hot tips for you that will help to capture your son or daughter’s birthday party or any other event, and you won’t have to go bonkers doing so.

Hiring a good photographer may seem easy, but when it comes to covering your child’s event, you want to know you found the best person possible who’s been vetted. Places like Craigslist, might seem reputable and for the most part, they are, but you have no idea who you’re getting. If you do decide to take your chances and hire the photographer from places such as Facebook Marketplace, then ask for up to five references of previous customers. Once you get these references, do your due diligence and check these people out!

Next, you can find a variety of skill sets such as kid photography on the Thumbtack App or Website. Thumbtack does have photographers who have passed a background check for parents wanting to ensure they’re getting someone who is responsible around children. Be sure to check out this app.

Photo booths are another nice way to allow for picture taking where you’re not interrupting facilitating the rest of the party to snap a few shots with your cell phone. Another benefit to renting a photo booth is these individuals works perfectly for large parties. The reason they are ideal for volume guests is that they sit off to the side when people want their photo taken they can do it in a unique way, giving them a hard copy to hang. For fun, you can request all the files to be delivered from the photo booth and then post to Facebook or other places for sharing.

These are a few places for you to consider next time you’re planning a party or event. We’ve got a multitude of different party favors that can make your celebration complete. Be sure to give us a shout if there are any further questions. Until then, happy planning!

South Florida Bounce’s Birthdays on a Budget

As we all stride forward with another year in full swing, we may find ourselves a little shy in the bank account area. Don’t worry it happens to everyone from time to time. In most cases, you can suck it up, but when it comes to your child’s birthday you better get ready to drop some ‘Benjamins,’ right? Wrong! South Florida Bounce has some great tips on how to stay within your budget while throwing your child a great party. Copy and paste this blog to your forehead!

First, plan your child’s party carefully. What we mean by that is make a list of everything you can think of that is a priority for your family to have fun. Pinterest has checklists that are extremely helpful. Here’s one we found for you to spark ideas, you can print it and keep it with you in case your planning like a Ninja.

http://www.housemixblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Kids-birthday-party-checklist.jpg

To stay within the budget, get creative. Tablecloths can easily be made with giant rolls of paper or hit up the dollar store. Don’t get the most expensive plates and plastic ware; they are most likely getting thrown out at the end anyways. A cute way to make dollar store plastic-ware more expensive is to line a small basket with a decorative napkin and place the forks and spoons in there. No one will guess you spent your money on dollar store silver.

Food can be kept to a minimum. You can always see if your friends will help if your money is super tight. However, Aldi and Winn Dixie always have phenomenal deals on party platters and things to make finger sandwiches. Again, using a little ingenuity never hurt anyone.

Instead of hiring a photographer, capture the event using your smartphone. With technology, today, no one will even know that you took amateur pictures. Use a selfie stick if you have one, make sure the phone is turned sideways on not up and down, and take the same picture multiple times. These things will help you stay focused.

Now that you’ve got the meat and potatoes out of the way so to speak, decorations are in order. Blow up a ton of balloons, get cheap streamers and go to town. Kids aren’t interested in this type of thing. But, you can make it look festive even with a couple of bucks.

Your most expensive items don’t have to be decorations, food or accouterments. Spend the big dollars on something that your child will love and remember. Let us know if we can make any suggestions and count on us for your best bounce house selection in South Florida.

Dealing with the After-Holiday Blah’s

The season has come and gone and now everyone who is blasé with vacations, toys, sweets, etc., is now looking for anything to say those horrific words “I’m bored.” As a parent, these words muttered together with that sniveling whine can make you quiver with angst. What do you do? We’ve got the answers right here in this week’s blog.

Hint, Hint: (of course, we’re not going to tell you to rent a bounce house or anything until the end, where you’ll be looking to put us on speed dial)

There are a million, gazillion, trillion answers online. By visiting places like Pinterest and Parenting Magazine, you can find a ton of great games, projects or whatever else floats your kid’s boat. Here’s a one we found ideal for staying home.

The Fizzy Candy Cane Experiment is totally awesome and a great way to rid your children of cavities. Plus, it’s a science project, so it’s okay. You’ll need the following to conduct the process:

  • Leftover Candy Canes
  • 1 Box Baking Soda
  • 1 Bottle Vinegar
  • Any Color Food Coloring
  • A baking pan that’s deep
  • Measuring Cup
  • Spoons

Follow these steps:

  1. Spread all the baking soda out on the sheet.
  2. Place Candy Canes on top of the baking soda and try to spread them out evenly.
  3. Mix food coloring with a cup of vinegar.
  4. With a spoon have each child drop vinegar mixture onto the baking soda in the pan.

If all goes well, there’s going to be a lot of fizz and the colors from the food coloring plus whatever dye is in the candy canes will create beautiful designs of foamy color. If you didn’t like the idea of this project, let’s move onto the next.

Another idea to keep in your boredom briefcase is local activities online.

  • Take your kids to an outdoor yoga camp for a day.
  • You can do a Google Alert for free events in South Florida or Coral Springs.
  • Consider visiting one of the many museums in South Florida. Check to see if they have any days open to free admittance for kids.

Best Balloon Decorators in Broward County

rent_bounce_house_featured_image1

While we may be in the business of bounce houses and other inflatables, one thing we know goes together for a great party is balloons. We’ve compiled a list of some of the best balloon decorators in Broward County for you to check out, during your event planning.

First on our list is Carole Cotton and her team at Happy Balloons Parties. She established her business in the late 70’s, so she’s practically a native. Her team adds a ‘one-of-a-kind’ element to any party or celebration with giant arrangements. They rock at putting together some incredible corporate party décor too!

Next up on the SFB Best List is Sandy’s Balloon Décor. While we’ve never had the pleasure to work with this group, we do see they’re capable of handling jobs of multiple sizes. From centerpieces to sculptures they’ve got a clean look that’s nice. We heard they’re one of the best.

Whether your event is a wedding or a fundraiser, Away2GoBalloons can decorate a hall or a swimming pool! They also do a variety of balloon arches and make incredible displays for Bat Mitzvahs. These folks can create some gorgeous decorations that add to the excitement.

If You’re were looking for balloon magic or a balloon twister, then check out gigmasters.com. This site specializes in talent for booking parties, including old St, Nick himself! Regardless, they have some of the most skilled balloon twisters and sculptors around South Florida.

Of course, you can always contact a local florist for smaller jobs, but it makes sense to go to companies who specialize in balloon bouquets for larger parties, fundraisers, and school events. Most of them will deliver. (Don’t forget to tip the driver. Can you imagine the nightmare driving with that many balloons?)

Another point to make is that if you call the smaller companies first, many of them will be higher in price. It pays to negotiate here. There’s plenty of competition, but they also farm the work out to the bigger companies. Ask if the assembly of the balloons is done on-site or if they contract another facility. If they tell you the latter, then there’s a good chance, they’re the middle man, and we all know what that means.

These are just a few of the company’s that we think are excellent resources or point of contact for you. Feel free to let them know we sent you!
