Spring Training Fun in South Florida

Spring training is a series of practices and exhibition games preceding the start of the regular season. This important training period allows new players to try out for roster and position spots and gives established players practice time prior to competitive play.

Spring training is also a great time for fans to watch their favorite teams warm up for the season, especially as so many national teams and players choose to practice right here in the Sunshine State.  Folks come from all around the country to see their heroes play, and there are some awesome practice grounds and programs for tourist and locals to enjoy.

JetBlue Park in Fort Myers

Boston Red Sox

JetBlue Park in Fort Myers is the Red Sox spring-training stadium.  The stadium is just like a smaller version of the Red Sox’ very own Fenway Park and just a long fly ball away from the airport. Unlike beautiful Boston, we have the sunshine all year round, meaning that hardened Red Sox fans are always more than happy to travel south for their annual spring pilgrimage.

Minnesota Twins

Just 10 minutes down the road from the Twins regular home at Hammond Stadium, Fort Myers training ground is super easy to access for Twins fans from around the state and the country.  Miles and miles away from the madness of Orlando and Miami, ball fans can spend the day watching their team, then take in the stunning sites and secluded beaches of the Gulf Coast.

Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter

St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have played their spring-training games in six Florida cities since 1914, and this year they will host 15 games at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium starting February 24, 2019. Situated deep within the Abacoa Community, your visit to Jupiter will be all about ballgames, beaches and beautiful weather.

Miami Marlins

Surrounded by vast natural areas and built around the mouth of the Loxahatchee River, Jupiter is the Marlins’ home-away-from-home about an hour and a half north of Miami.  Based at the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, which they share with the Cardinals, they will be hosting a number of games starting from February 24, 2019.

First Data Field in Port St Lucie

New York Mets

As one of the biggest names in Baseball, it is no surprise that the Mets demand some of the very best training facilities in the country.  First Data Field is home to the New York Mets Spring Training, the St. Lucie Mets Minor League Team and all the New York Mets Minor League operations.  If you are lucky enough to score tickets to watch your favorite team train down here, you will also be just a couple of hours away from Orlando and minutes away from Hutchinson Island beaches and the PGA Village, giving you the perfect all-around Florida experience.

FITTEAM Ballpark in West Palm Beach

Houston Astros

The Astros originally played their Florida spring-training games in Cocoa Beach, located in the shadow of the Cape Canaveral spaceport before relocating to West Palm Beach for the 2017 season. The FITTEAM Ballpark is a 160-acre complex featuring a large playground, splash park, four lighted basketball courts and a 1.8-mile walking trail that will keep you entertained for hours, and that’s before you’ve even headed out to explore the rest of what West Palm Beach has to offer.

Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals are always thrilled to invite their fans to come see them here at FITTEAM, the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches! It may be warmer than Washington down south, but fans will find shade, a 360-degree concourse, the Banana Boat Lawn, suites and party decks in which to enjoy an all-encompassing Spring Training experience.
